In Nischenprojekt, or “Niche Project” as it might be translated into English, two determined and impulsive characters search for a sense of balance and stability while tempting the constraints of their freedom. This spectacular acrobatic performance transports the audience into an eccentric and extraordinary world where numerous everyday objects; bottles, a rope, a table, and a diabolo are imaginatively manipulated. These two young artists, Esther and Jonas Slanzi, use an unusual mix of stunning circus skills and engaging theatricality to guide the audience on a graceful and thrilling rollercoaster ride of emotions. Their performance is an unforgettable experience of contemporary circus – Nouveau Cirque at its best.

Corund, in English corundum, is more commonly known as ruby or sapphire. Its color, brilliance, purity, transparency, preciousness, durability, density, resistance, and crystalline precision are the inspiration for this professional ensemble of musicians from Lucerne. Their core repertoire consists of sacred renaissance and baroque music as well as 20th- and 21st century contemporary compositions. In their concerts, they strive for a historically accurate, highly expressive and vivacious performance.
All the musicians in the Ensemble Corund have made names for themselves as soloists in a variety of styles. They possess sound knowledge of historical performance practice as well as extensive experience as professional ensemble singers and instrumentalists. They come from a variety of heritages both from within Switzerland and abroad. Shared is their love for the ensemble’s repertoire and the striving for a rich, colorful, vital yet homogeneous ensemble sound.
