On Friday, 5 February 2016, 8.15 pm Baccala Compagnia, two modern-day clowns play out their unique and hilarious pas de deux through the universal language of gesture and expression. Even though not a single word is spoken in their show PSS PSS, these two characters sweep us up into their timeless and award-winning performance with all the seriousness, innocence, and unkindness of the human condition. Equally convincing in their dreamy silences as in their comic slapstick, Baccalà Compagnia have travelled the world with this charming and irresistibly funny story where almost anything goes. Baccala’s show is poetic, surreal, ironic, acrobatic, and infinitely enjoyable.
On Saturday, 6 February 2016, 8.15 pm the Luzia Von Wyl Ensemble makes their UAE debut with a concert in Dubai featuring a 10-strong band.
Their repertoire consists exclusively of pieces by the Lucerne-based composer Luzia von Wyl. Having founded the Ensemble in 2010, this young musical personality has been able to fulfill her dream of bringing together like-minded musicians who love playing as an ensemble and who collaborate with her to refine and present her compositions. The Luzia von Wyl Ensemble turns a concert into an innovative first-rate experience. “Luzia von Wyl resides on a higher plane with this masterful program,” Glenn Astarita.
Special guest for this evening will be the Emirati oud musician, Faisal Al Saari with a brand new piece of music, composed in collaboration with Luzia von Wyl supported by Abu Dhabi Festival.
